MOSCOW, Apr 7 (PRIME) -- Russian online taxi hailing service Yandex.Taxi will expand its 500 million ruble fund for support of drivers and couriers, hurt by the coronavirus, to Armenia, Georgia, and Kazakhstan, the company said on Tuesday in a statement.
“The money will be spent on payments to drivers and couriers who contracted the coronavirus or quarantined as a result of contacts with ill people,” the statement read, without disclosing the exact amount of help.
The size of financial support for a driver or a courier depends on the record of fulfilled orders. “The remuneration is calculated for 14 days of illness or quarantine because of contacts with the infected,” the company said.
Yandex.Taxi launched the fund for assistance to drivers and couriers in Russia in March.
